Abstract

Unnatural deaths, including those caused by poisoning, drug overdose, accidents, suicide, and homicide,
present significant challenges to medico-legal investigations. Determining the exact cause and manner
of death in such cases is essential not only for the administration of justice but also for protecting human
rights and maintaining public trust in the legal system. Toxicological analysis conducted during medico-
legal autopsy plays a vital role in identifying the presence of toxic substances, drugs, alcohol, or poisons
in the body, thereby assisting forensic experts in establishing scientifically reliable conclusions about the
cause of death.
This research paper examines the importance of toxicological examination as an integral component of
medico-legal autopsies in cases of unnatural deaths. While autopsy findings provide crucial anatomical
